Rail Journeys and Holidays
Travelling by train is a relaxing and easy way to get from A to B, whether it is for a short distance, or a long journey requiring a night or two on the train. Choose from a selection of rambling country services or high speed alternatives. Experience the countryside and meet the locals, relaxing in the comfort of your seat. Get up and walk around, have a meal or a snack in your seat or in the dining car, the choice is yours!
Most trains operate all year round, in sunshine, rain or snow, allowing you to travel when and where it suits your plans. Trains allow you to explore countries, and get to some of the more remote off-the-beaten-track towns and villages. There are generally multiple services a day between major destinations. On longer journeys, choose an overnight train in a couchette or sleeper, taking care of the night’s accommodation as well as your transport and allowing you to arrive refreshed the following morning.
Stations are usually centrally located, and you can take advantage of the myriad of passes that are available, generally making your rail travel an economical alternative. Prices remain the same year round and there are usually discounts available for groups of two or more people travelling together.
